Wrong Move
I believe everyone has taken, in their life, at least a wrong move. Be it in work, relationship, friendship, decision-making, competition, etc.
Recently, I realized I made not one, but a couple of wrong moves. I’m not regretting one bit! Still, I’m not too late to make a narrow U-Turn and hopefully things will look right.
In work, I have to admit, I picked the wrong choice, wrong company, wrong environment. I guessed this isn’t what I’m really looking for. Elaine once said, most people dread getting up early for work, and it’s purely the normal morning syndrome. Whereas for me, I seriously dread going to work. And with this attitude, it will only lower my spirit each day, and to add on, my head and eyes are screaming in pain! I do wish to fit myself in a comfortable environment, and despite having to get my lazy ass up at 6am, I need not cry daily (apart from Saturday) on my misery.
In friendship, I was extremely upset with a closed friend of mine. We haven’t been talking for sometimes till I finally decided to dial the 8 digits on my mobile over lunch. Many may laugh or perhaps find it ridiculous after my reason behind it. Apparently I was browsing through a storybook on friendship and somehow I was closed to tears after the last page. At that point of time, I realized how badly I am missing this friend. Ok, you can tell I’m an extremely emotional person. Nonetheless, I’m glad I made the call.
To my friend, despite how pissed I am, just so you know, you’ll always have your pillar of support here with me!
Remember I once mentioned that I have lost a battle to confidence, trust and faith. I think I know why.
Apart from being all so emotional, I’m also very easily moved, affected and worst of all, taking critics seriously. This is bad. I’m not a fickle-minded person, however, I tend to listen and believe advice from old folks are ALWAYS right, just coz they are wiser and have seen most of the ugly world.
So with that, it sums up to my ever changing decisions, just coz I chose to listen to their ‘advice’ and ‘wisdom’.
In relationships, I dared not mention how many failed relationships I had. It’s really way embarrassing!
I should start searching my inner-self and question thoroughly what I truly want. It isn’t going to be easy.

Kok Kee Wanton Mee

Wanton mee has always been one of my favourite food. Needless to say, I had my own favourite stalls which I patronise from time to time. Haha…
I still remember sometime back when dad bought a packet of wanton mee home. Due to the mee being kept in the packet for a long time, it was already “fattened” and softened after soaking up all the sauces. However, it still tasted superbly good! What struck me was how good the sauce was, after being soaked into the noodles and making it so flavourful, something I have never tasted before.
It was quite a coincidence that someone posted a post on Kok Kee Wanton Mee located at Lavender Food Square!
Bingo!
As mentioned in someone’s post, the queue was long because of people ordering multiple packets. The noodles are also quite pricey at $3 with only a small handful of noodles. But, it’s definately worth it.

The clear sauce is a gem in disguise. Noodles are cooked in hot water and then soaked in cool water and then back to the hot water it goes before finally landing on the plate. I guess the different temperatures make the noodles more springy and not mushy when cooked for too long.
In this case, however, the sauce is the speciality. The usual sauces are mixed into the noodles and then drained out again and a “special” stock was added. Upon tasting, I could declare that it was the best wanton mee I’ve ever eaten. The sauce was seriously good with a slight sweetness and a hint of Hsing Tao wine in it.
Total distinction!!!
The noodles were bouncy and smooth and the wanton was smooth to the bite. The chilli was also good but lets just put it this way; you don’t even need chilli for this wanton mee.
Wanton mee lover or not, just try it once and you’ll be a fan. I’ll definately be going there again!
