Happy Feet

Caught this fabulous movie… at first I thought its just going to be some pathetic animation… I was wrong, it was actually quite nice.

Hmmmm… I like Mumble… he’s born slightly different from the rest. He doesnt has a sweet voice and he can’t sing at all, and thus cant find his ‘heart song’. The only way for him to communicate his emotions is by using his ‘happy feet’… he can only tap dance. But tap dancing is considered weird and ’special’…. and as such he was given nicknames… Learn something in this movie.

2 messages to be brought home from this movie - respect individual differences, one day that special one will become a star, if u give him/her the chance. He will and is indeed special, and he will shine among the rest, only if u are there to nurture him and not to give up on him because of his ‘disabilities’ or uniqueness. The second message is more of an ecological one… quite obvious from the movie… enuff spoiler ;p… go watch it… very nice.

But choose a midnite show, dun watch it at neighbourhood cineplexes…. u wun want ur show to be spoilt by noisy toddlers.

Was over at IKEA Tampines on Wednesday to help them ’stress test’ their crowd handling capabilities. IKEA Tampines will open on 30^th November 2006. This place is HUGE and is definitely a fresh change from the ‘often cramped’ Alexandra branch.

As for parking, no worry! The carpark is spacious!

As I was early, had to do what Singaporeans do… QUEUE UP!!! Haha! It was really hot in the afternoon and luckily, there were tents set up to shelter from the sun. However, the hanging fans were not working. It seems they have installed the fans but not the generators to power them. Stupid! (It was too hot… and I did not bother to go out to get a shot of ‘IKEA’ logo.

A lot of IKEA Tampines staff were there to greet and guide the ‘Friends’ of IKEA… not bad… OH! Was each given a ‘heart-shaped’ plushie at the entrance.

One important thing to let you people know is that the CAFE is very much better now! It is almost like my previous school canteen! It is spacious and we can forget about the ‘excuse me’ and knocks here and there, at the old Alexandra branch as we tend to squeeze for seats! There are even two queues for people to line up to get their food!

So much for these bits and pieces of the new IKEA at Tampines! See it for yourself on the 30^th November lah!

Was chatting wif JinFen on MSN last Friday, realised tat she actually ordered a birthday cake for her mum through my recommendation on Yiling Confectionery. ALthough she was not ard in Singapore, she still managed to get her bro to help wif the payment first… So sweet of her, isn’t it… but turned out to be mum’s paying for her own cake. Haha…. sometime things can turn out to be unexpected!

After work yesterday, I can’t believe myself! I actually allowed myself to blend into the Kiasurism crowd, queuing an insanely 25 minutes for Tanjong Pagar’s Famous Muffins.

If not for the conversation wif JinFen about muffins, I doubt I will be having a box of 6 muffins, along with a brownie sitting right next to me on the dinning table!

I have to admit this, the aroma of these muffins is making my tummy goes ‘Aww….’
